A 28-year-old Nigerian woman has been arrested by the Manso Nkwanta Police Command for allegedly operating a brothel at Manso Watreso in the Ashanti Region.
Esther Egbuhama, who is said to be the owner of the establishment known as Mama Nice Lodge was arrested during the operation, which took place on Sunday, April 19, 2026.
According to a police statement, intelligence gathered on activities at the location prompted the raid, which was aimed at clamping down on suspected criminal operations at the premises.
However, other individuals believed to be involved in the activities managed to escape before officers arrived at the scene.
The suspect, Esther, was subsequently arrested and transported to the Manso Nkwanta Police Station to assist in ongoing investigations and face further action.
The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has reminded the public that operating a brothel is a criminal offence under Section 277 of the Criminal Offences Act (as amended by N.L.C.D 398, Paragraph 16).
The Command assured residents that similar operations will continue across the jurisdiction to rid the area of illegal activities and ensure public safety.
