8-year-old Primary two pupil, Jalila Abdul Jalil risks amputation after been forced by a female teacher to dip her legs into hot water.

Jalila, a pupil of St. Olives Grammar School in Dodowa suffered foot rot caused by repeatedly wearing the same pair of socks (sometimes wet).

According to her, she wears the socks with instructions from the teacher.

She also recalls how the teacher asked her colleagues to call her a witch.

She said although she resisted, she forcefully dipped her legs into hot water causing her unbearable pain.

According to Jalila's mother, to shield their act, the school cut communication between her and her child, which prevented her from knowing the ordeal her ward was going through.

She said the teacher only called her on phone to inform her that her child had a fungi infection, and while trying to treat the infection, her daughter resisted which led to hot water splashing on her leg and was subsequently taken to the hospital.

Surprisingly, when the mother got to the hospital, the story was different. Jalila had been diagnosed with leg ulcer.

The primary two pupil has since undergone surgery and now bound in a wheelchair hoping for her story to change.
