27-year-old man jailed 7 years for breaking into church to steal musical instruments

A 27-year-old Mohammed Rafiu has been sentenced to seven years in prison for breaking into a church, Faith International Ministry Church in Hohoe, Volta Region, to steal musical instruments.

Rafiu is said to have stolen an amplifier, a cross-over machine, an equalizer, and a mixer, all belonging to the church.

On 5th June, 2026, Rafiu was seen near the church carrying a sack containing various items and rushing to hail a car.

Eyewitnesses are reported to have suspected his actions and approached to check the content of the sack, only to find out he was making away with the musical instruments.

He has been sentenced to three years for unlawful entry and four years for stealing. Both sentences are to run concurrently.
