Volta Region: Mentally challenged son kills father

28-year-old Valentine Tublu has taken the life of his 63-year-old father, Vincent Tublu at Kpetoe in the Volta Region.

According to the deceased's wife, Valentine had been receiving medical treatment for mental health issues.

She said he was due for his next medication last Monday, but upon arriving at the hospital, no doctor could assist the nurse in administering the medicine due to the son's violent behavior.

He was reportedly brought home and chained to an orange tree near the kitchen.

Valentine is said to have attacked his father from behind with a large stick leading to his death.

The deceased has since been deposited at the Ho Teaching Hospital morgue, while the suspect is receiving medical treatment at the same facility.
