British Airways Pilot Kwame Yeboah Jailed for Raping 12-Year-Old Girl After Online Grooming

A British Airways First Officer, Kwame Yeboah, 30, has been sentenced to nine years and four months in prison after pleading guilty to raping a 12-year-old girl whom he groomed through Instagram before travelling hundreds of kilometres to meet her. The shocking case has attracted widespread attention in the United Kingdom and internationally, highlighting the growing dangers of online child grooming and sexual exploitation.

According to prosecutors, the victim initially claimed online that she was 17 years old. However, conversations about school and photographs showing her in school uniform made it clear that she was a young child. Despite these warning signs, Yeboah continued communicating with her before arranging a meeting in person.

Journey Ended in a Horrific Crime

The court heard that Yeboah travelled from Reading to Merseyside in February 2026 to meet the child. After picking her up, he drove her to a secluded area where he raped her three times before taking her home. Days later, a concerned friend informed the girl’s mother, who immediately contacted police. Investigators quickly identified Yeboah through details he had shared with the victim during their online conversations. Faced with overwhelming evidence, he pleaded guilty to rape and one count of sexual assault. The court also imposed a 15-year restraining order preventing any future contact with the victim.

British Airways Responds

British Airways expressed sympathy for the victim and her family, describing the crimes as “sickening” while stressing that Yeboah’s actions were entirely his own. The airline strongly condemned the offences and reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the public.
