One life lost after building collapse

A six-year-old girl has reportedly lost her life after part of an old building collapsed on her, following a heavy downpour at Gomoa Junkwa in the Central Region.

According to reports, residents had raised concerns regarding visible cracks that had shown on the building for long.

Meanwhile, residents, in an attempt to rescue the girl from the debris, rushed to the scene but she was already dead.

Some community members are blaming house owners over poor maintenance and weak structural conditions for the disaster.

The body of deceased has since been deposited at the morgue, while police commence investigations into the matter.
