Student arrested for allegedly assaulting female teacher

A recent Basic Education Certificate Examination candidate has been arrested over the alleged assault of a female teacher at St John’s Catholic ‘B’ Basic School at Abrem Agona in the Central Region.

The suspect, identified as James Mensah, is accused of attacking the school’s science teacher, Madam Matilda Mensah, during instructional hours.

Reports say the suspect later went to the teacher’s residence, where he allegedly issued further threats.

Officials of the Ghana National Association of Teachers intervened and assisted in the arrest of the suspect.

James Mensah is currently in police custody and is expected to be processed for court in connection with the incident.
