Two midwives arrested over allegedly missing baby

A male and female nurse, has reportedly been arrested following the disappearance of a day old baby, at the Salaga Government Hospital in the Savannah Region.

Reports indicate, that the newborn went missing shortly after delivery.

According to relatives, they were informed that the mother of the child known as Priscilla, had delivered safely and was in good condition as the child.

A relative, identified as Balik Majik Ebenezer, said they were surprised when the mother of the newborn was moved to a different ward without the child and questioned the hospital staff.

A nurse reportedly, told them that she thought the mother had come out with the child to breastfeed, so she was not aware the baby was missing.

The matter was reported to the police leading to the arrest of the nurse and one other male nurse as investigations continue.
