Kwame Boakye, a security man of Sarafina Restaurant and Bar at Asenua, near Kumasi in the Ashanti Region has been robbed of his pump action gun by some unknown robbers.
The security man was reportedly robbed by three runaway robbers, around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, when the place was very quiet.
According to the police, one of the robbers, who was riding a black jungle motorbike strategically, engaged Boakye in a conversation to distract him. In the course of the conversation, the two other suspects snatched the gun from Boakye from behind.
Kwame, accompanied by Leonard Avonsige, the owner of the restaurant are said to have called Mamponteng District Police sitrep to report the case.
The night security man informed the Police that he was patrolling his base when he spotted someone on a black jungle motorcycle, parked behind a trailer truck beside the restaurant at a time when there was a general lights out.
“ I approached the person who told me he was waiting for someone at that time. All of a sudden, two others, one with a cutlass, emerged from behind and snatched an unloaded Tulger pump action gun he was holding, and they sped off on the motorbike.”
According to the police, Boakye, who was alone, shouted for help, but nobody came out at that ungodly hour to assist him.
Mamponteng District Police quickly dispatched the patrol team to visit the scene, but the perpetrators could not be traced. There was no CCTV camera around to help identify the perpetrators.
However, investigation has been initiated to apprehend the suspects.
From all indications, the hoodlums, perhaps needed the sophisticated weapon to engage in a robbery operation, as they surprisingly did not harm Boakye.
