
Two arrested for trafficking 1,613 in Toyota Highlander and Pajero

Two suspects, 33-year-old Issac Odoi and Kwami Mani, 39, have been apprehended by the Tema Regional Police Command for their involvement in trafficking a total of 1,613 parcels of substances suspected to be narcotics drugs that was been transported from the Volta Region towards Tema.
The arrest followed a well-coordinated intelligence received by the police on January 10, 2026.
A statement released by police states that on January 11, 2026 at about 12:45 am, two vehicles, a white Toyota Highlander with registration number GS 2013 - 13 and a black Mitsubishi Pajero GC 400 - 22 were intercepted, and a search conducted revealed several compressed yellow wrapped parcels suspected to be narcotic drugs.
The exhibits have been handed over to the Regional CID, Tema, where photographs and inventories were taken. The substances are currently with the police, and the suspects have been taken into custody to assist with investigations.
Eight Hundred and Seventy-Two parcels were found in the Mitsubishi Pajero, and 741 parcels were found in the Toyota Highlander. Samples of the substances will be sent to the forensic crime laboratory for testing while a search will be conducted at the residence of the suspects and will be processed for court.
