37-year-old man jailed 10 years for defiling girl, 11

A 37-year-old man, Tibini Atta has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for defiling an 11-year-old girl at Digangan, a farming community in the Kpandai District of the Northern Region.

According to the Northern Regional Police Command, the incident occurred on Thursday, September 24, 2026, when the victim reportedly went to a farm with the suspect.

Police said the suspect had sexual intercourse with the 11-year-old, resulting in injuries that required medical attention.

The court subsequently convicted and sentenced Tibini Atta to 10 years imprisonment.

The case serves as a reminder of the serious legal consequences surrounding sexual offences against children and the importance of protecting children from abuse.
