The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested five suspected members of a criminal syndicate believed to be involved in a series of armed robbery and landguard activities at Sapeiman Faase in the Greater Accra Region.
The suspects; Torgbui Agah Semaglo, 50, Shadrach Agah Semaglo, 22, William Kweku Sedanu, 21, Cyril Kassenu, 26, and Kingsford Agah Semaglo, 18, were arrested on Friday, July 17, 2026, during an intelligence-led operation conducted by the Accra Regional Police Command in collaboration with the National Police Intelligence Directorate (NPID).
Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects are linked to a criminal network involved in armed robbery and landguard activities within Sapeiman and neighbouring communities.
A search conducted at their premises led to the recovery of several items, including a pump-action gun, a Stoeger ST-R9 pistol, a dummy Austria pistol, a jackknife, a face mask, 12 BB cartridges, three rounds of 9mm ammunition, an AK-47 round, a talisman, and two kitchen knives.
“All retrieved items have been secured as exhibits for evidential purposes,” the statement said.
The five suspects remain in police custody and are assisting with investigations as authorities work to establish their involvement in other robbery incidents and related criminal activities.
The Accra Regional Police Command added that efforts are underway to identify and arrest other persons who may be connected to the group.
